Bangladesh declares state mourning over Bahrain PM’s death

The peoples republic of Bangladesh Government has decided to observe a day of state mourning in Bangladesh on Tuesday following the death of Bahrain Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. The cabinet department issued a notification in this regard on Monday.

On this occasion, the national flag will be hoisted at half-mast in all government, semi-government and autonomous and educational institutions of Bangladesh, including all government and private buildings and Bangladesh missions abroad.

Special prayers will be held in all mosques of Bangladesh today for the forgiveness of the soul of the Prime Minister of Bahrain Sheikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

Other religious institutions will hold special prayers for the peace of his soul, the circular said.

The Bahraini prime minister died Wednesday morning at the Mayo Clinic in the United States. Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa was Byron’s longest-serving prime minister. He proved his worth by dealing with the 2010 Arab Spring protests and allegations of corruption.
