State of religious minorities in Bangladesh: 69 Hindu temples attacked, vandalised, looted and/or set on fire since Aug-5.
According to the latest report of Sanatani Jagaran Jote, 69 temples in Bangladesh came under attack in the last 4 months (Aug 5 to Dec 21). The attacks took the form of vandalism, arson, and looting.
The platform claimed that they have info on a further 50 attacks which was not included in their report as they were not reported in the media. This means that the actual no. of attacks on temples has long exceeded 100.
The platform which advocates for Hindu rights and demands in 🇧🇩, criticised the Interim Govt of Dr. Yunus and other political parties who they say “legitimised” the nationwide attacks on Hindus since Aug 5 by aligning them with Awami League. They stated that the attacks on the temples are clear evidence of the “communal nature” of the attacks.
